The Palms Hand Therapy is a private hand therapy practice, located within Mudgeeraba Hand Clinic.
The aim of Mudgeeraba Hand Clinic is to provide a centre of excellence for the care of patients with any hand or wrist condition.
Our co- located Hand Surgery/Hand Therapy (physiotherapy and occupational therapy) and hand research services enable an integrated, individualised team based approach to optimise your care.
Hands are strong, expressive, have the ability to manipulate fine objects precisely, and are used in so many aspects of our lives.
Hand therapy may be beneficial following acute injuries such as trauma, as well as chronic conditions. We have a special interest in the assessment and management of injuries and pathologies of the hand, wrist and forearm.
Your consult will involve getting the information you need to know about your injury or condition. It may also involve wound and scar management, techniques for swelling control, custom made splinting or casting, as well as desensitisation, sensory reeducation, prescription of exercises and training to return to hobbies or work specific tasks.
We strive for a personal approach in providing efficient and effective care in all phases of your treatment.
We communicate and work closely with you, your medical doctor or surgeon and case managers to form a close knit team that will guide and support you through your recovery.
Our aim is to utilise our clinical knowledge and skills to assist in your timely recovery, to optimise your return to activity, and ultimately enhance your quality of life!
