The Palms Hand Therapy is affiliated with hand surgery and hand therapy volunteer programs including Orthopaedic Outreach Australia, Touching Hands USA and AUSNEP.
Our hand therapists have had the privilege of visiting and working in places such as Phnom Penh, Cambodia and Kathmandu, Nepal. We are committed to working with the local therapists and surgeons through mutual learning to optimise hand outcomes in these countries.
These trips are very rewarding, and we have learnt a great deal from them. In addition to treatment of patients, we undertake teaching sessions and workshops for the local pracititioners.
When your treatment has finished and you no longer require your splint, have you considered donating it so that it can be reused in Cambodia or Nepal?
We can take these previously used splints overseas to assist in the treatment of another patient overseas or for teaching purposes for therapists overseas.
We have a collection box of old splints in our treatment room. Simply drop it off at the front desk at Mudgeeraba Hand Clinic, or give it to your treating hand therapist.
Thank you
